Kerala HSE Class 11 Accountancy (with AFS)

In Kerala HSE, Plus One Accountancy, whose course title is Accountancy with AFS (Analysis of Financial Statements), introduces financial accounting for a sole proprietorship. ‘Introduction to Accounting’ covers what accounting is and the theory base of concepts and conventions. ‘Recording of Transactions’ moves through the journal, which records each transaction in debit-and-credit form, then the ledger and subsidiary books, and the bank reconciliation statement. ‘Adjustments, Errors & Final Accounts’ is the largest unit, with depreciation, provisions and reserves, bills of exchange, the trial balance and rectification of errors, the financial statements of sole proprietors, and accounts from incomplete records. ‘Computerized Accounting’ has one chapter, on computers in accounting.

The subject is arranged as 4 units and 11 chapters, split 2, 3, 5 and 1 across the units. Exam notes are available for all 11 chapters, closing with exam tips and a quick-revision list, and a PDF copy of each set can be saved. Each chapter page also carries a myth-check and 6 or 7 concept cards, a worked example that reveals one step at a time, and 5 practice questions, some multiple choice and some answered by typing, that double as a quiz with a running score.

The SCERT Kerala textbook should be read first, because the notes here are written for revision rather than as a first reading. The PDF for a chapter can be kept beside the textbook, and the formulas and formats can be compared with the way the teacher sets out the same entries in class. The site is independent of SCERT and the Government of Kerala, so the teacher’s instruction on layout or wording takes priority over anything shown here.
