The Accounting Cycle

Every business starts with real-world events — buying, selling, paying, receiving. Each event is a transaction. Below are four transactions for a small shop. Reveal them one by one, then move to the Journal.

#1Started shop with ₹1,00,000 cash
#2Bought goods for ₹30,000 in cash
#3Sold goods for ₹50,000 in cash
#4Paid shop rent ₹8,000 in cash

Reveal all 4 transactions to proceed.

Guided hints

A tutor that never spoils the answer

Stuck? Three escalating hints. Each one points at a rule or asks you to notice a contradiction. None of them tell you the answer — that's the whole point.

How it fits

Use ACES with school, not instead of it

Your teacher does what we can't. We do what they can't — replay any concept until it clicks.

Mistakes
In the classroom
Marked wrong, move on.
With ACES alongside
A wrong journal entry triggers a hint, not a red mark. The ratio reacts on screen.
Examples

Few worked problems, mostly from the textbook.

Indian-context worked example on every chapter; interactive simulations to live through.
When you get stuck
In the classroom
Wait for the next class, or guess.
With ACES alongside
Three-level graduated hints. None tells you the answer; all get you closer.
Revision
In the classroom
Re-read the chapter, hope it sticks.
With ACES alongside
Interactive simulations, worked examples, practice sets — replay any concept until it clicks.
FAQ

Common questions

  • Yes. Every chapter, every simulation, every practice set. We run a small number of unobtrusive ads (Google AdSense) to cover the cost of running the site. You do not need to log in or sign up.
  • No. ACES is an independent learning platform. We follow the public Higher Secondary commerce syllabi as specifications — what topics to teach, at what depth — and write all content independently from scratch.
  • Class 11 and Class 12 commerce stream — Accountancy, Business Studies, and Economics — for two boards: CBSE (NCERT-aligned) and Kerala HSE (SCERT-aligned). 137 chapters in total across both boards.
  • Most are. Chapters that have been editorially verified are clean; the rest carry an "Under review" badge. We surface this openly — we would rather show the review state than hide it.
  • ACES is a powerful supplement, not a substitute. For board exams, you should still cross-check key topics with your prescribed textbook and your teacher. Use ACES for the interactive parts — the journal entries, the ledger simulation, the practice sets — that the textbook can't give you.
  • Those platforms are mostly video lectures plus past-year question banks. ACES is interactive: you post the journal entries yourself, you watch the ledger update in real time, you work through graduated hints until the concept clicks. Different shape, different muscles trained.
  • Each chapter has graduated-hint chains tied to specific misconceptions. Click for a hint and you get a nudge towards the right rule. Click again and you get a re-framing question. Click a third time and you get a small step. At no point does the tutor reveal the final answer — by design.
  • We do not require login. In-page interaction events stay in your browser's session storage. Aggregate, anonymised usage is recorded via Google Analytics. See our Privacy Policy for the full plain-English version.
