Class 12 Economics under CBSE is introductory macroeconomics, the study of the economy as a whole. ‘National Income and Related Aggregates’ opens with an introduction to macroeconomics and then national income accounting, including GDP, GNP, NDP and NNP, the value-added, income and expenditure methods, and the circular flow. ‘Money, Banking and Determination of Income’ covers the functions of money, commercial banks, the central bank and credit creation, then the determination of income and employment through aggregate demand and supply, the multiplier and equilibrium output. ‘Government Budget and the Economy’ covers the government budget and the balance of payments.
The subject has 3 units of 2 chapters each, 6 chapters in all, and every chapter page shows its unit and chapter number at the top. Each page has a myth-check, then 6 or 7 concept cards that carry a real-life example, and continues with a written explanation, then a worked example, then 5 practice questions. A quiz repeats the 5 questions with a running score. At the end of each chapter a link leads to the next chapter in the list or, from the last chapter, back to this index.
With only 6 chapters, the subject can be taken one chapter at a time alongside the NCERT textbook, using this page for a second look after the textbook chapter has been read. When a topic remains unclear, the explanation shown after a quiz answer can be taken to the teacher as a starting point for the question. This site is not affiliated with NCERT or CBSE, so it should be treated as a study aid and not as an official source.
